What’s Going On?
In September, I composed the music to Dungeon Delivered!. In October, I composed the music for my upcoming album 8-bit Robotics. That’s coming out soon, but a little more on that later. I also attended an amazing video game concert a couple of weeks ago, Heroes of Hyrule, which featured music from beloved Zelda games performed by Ottawa Pops Orchestra. I recently found out that I won a gold medal from the Royal Conservatory of Music for my level 8 classical guitar examination. I’ll be heading down to Toronto in a week to perform alongside other gold medalists at the Mazzoleni Concert Hall. Finally, I’m waiting for my new Korg Minilogue XD to arrive at the music store. It’s a polyphonic analog synthesizer that will let me work on my skills at sound design.
Upcoming Album : 8-bit Robotics
Over the past month, I’ve been hard at work composing music in the style of Mega Man. I wanted to try my hands at futuristic chiptune textures, since I had mostly spent my time in fantasy music to this point. This collection of new compositions has turned into a full album by the name 8-bit Robotics, to be released within weeks. Take a look at this photo to see how one track looks like in Cubase! If you’re interested in purchasing and receiving a physical copy of the album (in the form of a cd), let me know by filling this form. Thanks for your support! :)
Exclusive Content From Dungeon Delivered!
I got so excited working on 8-bit Robotics that I decided to postpone the release of the soundtrack to the video game Dungeon Delivered!. You can still hear the music that I’ve released so far in this playlist. On top of that, I’m giving you exclusive access to this track. This one was intended for the part of the game where the player surveys the level and plans his strategy. Once I got to see the actual visuals for that part of the game, I wrote a completely different track that suited it more. Still, I really love this track and I hope you do too. So go on, and click here to hear it!
What’s Next?
I’ll be taking a break from chiptune music and work my way towards 16-bit sounds! I want to explore VSTs that emulate SNES sounds and try out new themes, techniques and textures. I have an old collection of compositions that I want to turn into 16-bit sound, and I can’t wait to get back to composing fresh new fantasy music.
