My latest album🎵, RPG & Fantasy - Volume I: Exploration, is out today! It's perfect for exploring forests and rivers, doing the dishes and relaxing with a good book 😉. Find it on your favorite streaming service: francoisgerinlajoie.com/albums/
Hey friends! I'm working on a new collection of tracks using the symphonic orchestra and geared towards action sequences and settings. I've just completed the first of the set. It's an airship track, and it features bombastic brass melodies and the entire (virtual) orchestra. Want to hear it?
I'm releasing my ninth album on all major digital streaming services on April 23, 2026! RPG & Fantasy - Volume I: Exploration is my very first orchestral album. It features ten original compositions that are inspired by exploration music from fantasy RPG video games.
I now have a landing page on my website where I list the music asset packs that I produce and sell. You'll find descriptions and links to their product pages on your favorite online marketplace (Unity Asset Store, Fab, itch.io and GameDev Market). Take a look!
This neat video features clips from the video games that were created by local Ottawa game developers during Global Game Jam 2026. Thanks to Ottawa Games (https://www.ottawagames.info/) for the opportunity to write the music for their showcase video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4OFPMaN3x0

Recently, I had the opportunity to watch an award-winning video game composer demonstrate speed-writing. He showed me how he generates ideas quickly🎮💡🎵🎹. I was inspired to try his method and started challenging myself to write tracks in an hour. Listen to what I made: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5KOmpw0J0gzXKzC4YoO8_D-x2TMzJRoA
I have a new 16-bit JRPG and adventure asset pack on itch.io, for those looking for sea-themed music for their games. 🎮🎶⚔️⚓🏴☠️ https://oragus.itch.io/16-bit-adventure-rpg-islands-and-sea-music-music-asset-pack

Great news for humans! I finally removed all traces of AI images from my website, and that's all thanks to Jeremy Smith (human) from Smithy Games. I commissioned him to create a new background for the website, one that I will also be using for my new business cards. Jeremy had previously designed my logo. If you're a fan of his artwork, do check him out: https://smithygames.com/art-commissions/. He's extremely talented and very fun to work with.
I used to play Snake on my very first cellphone, about 23 years. A game developer make a new version of Snake and used some of my tracks to go with it. Neat! Be sure to have a look: https://captaind.itch.io/agsnake-the-last-bite
Video game composer Alex Moukala recommended that I recreate my favorite tracks from the SNES era in order to improve my arranging and mixing skills. I decided to start with "Wind Scene" from Chrono Trigger. It is by far my favorite vgm track of all time. So here it is, completely recreated by ear using the software and VSTs at my disposal: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15nNsmDuDFbI8AcFmv8MhWuYXD9iCNGkI/view?usp=sharing

It features 12 tracks of beautiful sci-fi fantasy JRPG music inspired by the sound palette of the Sega Genesis. "Stellar Saga" will be available on all major digital streaming services. I'll announce the release date very soon, so stay tuned!
This neat little space game, Super Cosmolite, just came out and simulate space flight while avoiding asteroids. The game dev made excellent use of my sci-fi chiptunes. Playing the game is a fun way to listen to them too!

A neat indie video game, "Wyrm Warrior", came out this week and features some fantasy chiptune music that I wrote. If you grew up playing JRPGs in the 80s and 90s, you'll definitely enjoy playing this game for free in your browser.
"Some Little Adventures", by indie game developer MadeByQwerty, is a cute and bubbly retro-style platformer video game that came out not too long ago. You can try the first level for free in your browser or watch the trailer, and you'll get to hear my original music!
I haven't published new music on my YouTube channel in over a month, but rest assured, that doesn't mean I haven't been busy composing! I'm currently working with collaborator HydroGene on a new album inspired by sci-fi/fantasy JPRGs using the 16-bit sound of the Sega Genesis. I'm very happy to announce that we have hired an artist to design the album cover instead of relying on AI art. New music from the album will be dropping on my YouTube channel in the upcoming weeks. Don't miss it!
The Fountains is an upcoming platformer video game that features pixel art, chiptune music, and the game developer's own children as the main characters! The music currently used in the demo is pulled from free asset packs of my original compositions that I gave away to the indie video game community on itch.io, but if the Kickstarter campaign succeeds, I could he hired to write new music tailored for the game. Find out more by visiting the game's Kickstarter campaign webpage.
